My opinion
Worst: Quick Shot/Equinox
Best: Before eye i've not doubt barrage, but with volley it can be easily replaced, so i go for Broad Head Arrow for pve Burning Arrow for pvp

Ranger forum, eh? Too many awesome elites. Magebane, Burning, ED, BHA, Incendiary, Prep Shot, Cripshot, Mel's Shot...

Worst IMO is Lacerate. At least some people feel the pain of Exhaustion from Equinox - Lacerate adds a whole 4 dps - conditionally.

pvp it would be a tough one between

[skill] burning arrow [/skill] or [skill] Melandru's Shot [/skill]
both are imba but melz would win for the fun factor imo

Best PvE: whatever your situation depends on, I switch far too much to pick one.
Worst PvE: BHA terrible over-rated skill, learn to interrupt, learn to be a ranger. Only bring it when you need critical shutdown on a partywipe boss.

Here is my biased view:

"Best" Pvp: Cripshot

"Best" PvE: BHA
"Worst" PvE: Lacerate

"Best" PvE: Use quite a few dependant on area and build but [Rampage as One] or [Broad Head Arrow] [Ebon Dust Aura] (not a ranger one i know but i use it alot

in short, lacerate sucks bananas.

BTW who ever said quick shot is the worst elite is very wrong. You should try using quickshot with an icy bowstring and spinal shivers, makes for constant interupt. Also speed boosts and other preps make quickshot good for other things.

When you put it in that perspective, [[Quick Shot] alone won't do you much good, because you rely on a Necro teammate to apply [[Spinal Shivers] for you.
Same can be said for [[Equinox] and [[Famine]. You need a Mesmer teammate to apply [[Arcane Languor] or [[Spirit Shackles], respectively.

Bad elites?
[[Melandru's Arrows] - can be replaced by [[Barbed Arrows] for non-elite bleeding
[[Quicksand] - hurts you unless you're a casting Ranger

Good elites? So many choices. I say [[Melandru's Shot].

If you're really wanting to talk about Spinal Shivers with a Ranger, then you should look at what was said above as potentially the worst elite - [[Marksman's Wager].

Best elites in my opinion are Burning Arrow , Melandru's Shot and BHA. (Though I'm using a Marksman's Wager build for PvE so I <3 it atm)

I agree w/ Lacerate and would add in Equinox but Melandru's isn't all that bad. Granted the bonus dmg is conditional but it's still decent and I wouldn't put it up for the "worst" elite.

I'd parrot what most have said for PvP though, Burning Arrow, Melandru's shot, Magebane, Cripple Shot

For PvE, I always enjoy running a Prepared shot build (easy to power the PvE skills that aren't effected by expertise).
